There is indeed a great variety of subjects and photographs, but unfortunately there is no list of contents and the order of presentation seems a little random, and in places the text may prove difficult to follow (Volume I). These comments are not meant as criticism but to alert the reader to the layout of the document. It is undoubtedly a splendid account of the history of our parish and the amount and quality of the work is outstanding. As the judges commented the cover (Volume I) is exquisitely worked and the reader may care to zoom in on this page to appreciate the quality.
Each page of the two volume manuscript has been scanned and is presented here in the original page order. You will find extremely interesting accounts of medieval history, the war years, farming, our village community, organisations including the WI, village characters and much more, all illustrated with many wonderful old photographs and drawings.
Volume I (- to 1947) contains considerable content and therefore for clarity it has been divided into three parts. Volume II is shorter and covers the period c1947 to 1965.
